Workshop Overview
Delegation is all about letting go, to allow others to get going. Many managers
find this extremely hard to do, often resulting in an overworked manager and
under-utilised staff. This workshop will help managers to develop the skills
required to delegate successfully in order provide themselves and their staff
with realistic workloads, without the staff feeling "dumped on" or making
comments like, "Its not my job to do that..." The workshop will also
cover the skills required to coach others to undertake new tasks, which will in
turn lead to greater staff motivation.
Workshop Objectives
After participating in the above workshop delegates will:-
- Be able to give a practical definition of delegation
- Understand the difference between "delegating" and "dumping"
- Understand the skills required to delegate effectively, resulting in
staff feeling empowered to learn new skills and achieve new tasks.
- Be able to explain the process of coaching staff to develop new skills
and achieve new tasks
- Have the confidence to delegate work to staff in the knowledge that
it will be completed satisfactorily and within required timescales
Who should attend?
The above workshop will be of great benefit to anyone whose role involves people
management and finds it difficult to "let go" of tasks. People who can be heard
saying, "It will be quicker to do it myself.", "No-one will do it the way I want
it done." Or "No-one will do it as well as I can." will benefit greatly from
attending this workshop.
Workshop duration:- One day
